The city of Portland, Ore. has new plans for its reservoir of urine-contaminated water. In April, security cameras caught a teenager urinating into an uncovered drinking-water reservoir. Officials decided to flush the entirety of the reservoir’s 38 million gallons of water at a cost of $175,000, but after a backlash from the city’s notoriously eco-friendly citizens, the government decided a new plan was needed.
